Happy late Paint Party Friday! This week I continued work on my pointillism piece when I could. It will take a lot of dots to finish this piece! It's still a work-in-progress but looking back at last week's photo, I can see that I am making (slow) progress.

Where I left off last week...
As you can see, I have lots more dots to go but I have made progress! And thanks to Theresa's encouragement, I kept searching Google to figure out the name of the painting I thought was so spectacular. it is Bonaventure Pine by Paul Signac. And while mine will be very different, here is my inspiration below:

I expect the party will continue over the weekend with all the challenges everyone has had (it will for me) so I have fun and I will visit soon!!
That is totally awesome Eva. That is a challenge indeed. I'd love to do that one day. The Bonaventure Pine by Paul Signac is beautiful. I need to look at it closely, it's just mesmerizing. Of course your painting is different, but different in the sense that you may not have all the dots, but your putting your soul into each and every one of the dots. Happy PPF! Have a great weekend.

ReplyDeleteYou are getting on well, I know it is a lot of work. I used to do this with kids at school, letting them try to copy a pointilist painting, and it was always great to watch them - and hear the plopping of their pencils or brushes, it kept them busy for weeks, and they were all soooooo relaxed, which was geat for us all! Valerie

ReplyDeleteThis is so beautiful already, and I bet doing all those dots is kind of therapeutic....it also brings to mind the song my little 6 year old students made up when we were doing a color theory dots project, "Oh we've got dots, dots, lots and lots of dots...."

ReplyDeletei really love your pointillism piece-what are you using to apply the dots as they look beautifully uniform. i haven't tried pointillism in oil/acrylics yet but plan to soon. paul signac's picture is stunning- definitely my favourite style of painting!

Beautiful! The dots harmoniously form the tree, and the colors blend perfectly! Pointillism is so fun and teaches us to be patient, slow down, and look at all the details.
